Two days ago, the Lankans lost the T20 against Zimbabwe. But in the third and last T20 of the series in Colombo today, Zimbabwe felt the impact of Lanka.

Having bowled out the Zimbabweans for just 82 runs, Sri Lanka crossed that mark with 9 wickets and 55 balls in hand. That’s a record breaker – it’s Zimbabwe’s lowest score in T20 Internationals. As a result, the match between Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka will also see the lowest score (170 runs) in the T20 match between the two teams. Sri Lanka won the series 2-1.

Zimbabwe didn’t get off to a good start, but it wasn’t a nightmare either. At the end of 6 overs of the power play, their score was 52 with the loss of three wickets. But Wanindu Hasaranga has not yet begun to collapse! Hasaranga took 4 wickets for 15 runs in 4 overs, which destroyed Zimbabwe’s lower middle and lower order. Zimbabwe have lost their last 6 wickets for 12 runs off 27 balls. 4 of those 6 wickets.

What Sri Lanka needs to do this run! The two openers Pathum Nishankar’s 39 from 23 balls and Kushal Mendis’s 33 from 27 balls came from the opening pair of 64 runs, that too from just 46 balls. Although Mendis was out, Nishanka easily won the match with Dhananjaya de Silva (15 runs).
