Zapa candidate Niaz Uddin withdrew from the election

Jatiya Party candidate and former health secretary MM Niaz Uddin has announced to withdraw from Gazipur-1 and 5 constituencies in the 12th National Assembly elections. He himself confirmed the matter on Sunday afternoon.

In this regard, Niaz Uddin said, ‘I withdrew from the election due to my personal reasons. There is no different reason here’.

When asked about any hint or rumors that he stepped down under pressure, he denied it.

Former secretary MM Niaz Uddin submitted nomination papers as a Jatiya Party candidate for two of the 5 parliamentary constituencies of Gazipur in the 12th National Assembly elections.

During the selection of nomination papers, the returning officer canceled his nomination papers in Gazipur-1 constituency due to default. But later his nomination for Gazipur-5 seat was declared valid. Later, he appealed and got the nomination of Gazipur-1 constituency valid.
