Jatiya Party nominated candidate for Sirajganj-3 (Rayganj-Tarash) has announced to withdraw from the 12th National Parliament election. Zakir Hossain. He has announced that he will not contest the election despite taking the party symbol.

Zakir Hossain made this announcement in an interview given to journalists at his election office in Raiganj Municipal Bus Stand area on Friday night.

Zakir Hossain said, ‘I was in the field till December 17. A number of elective offices were also held. Enthusiasm was created among the leaders and workers. But after 4 pm on December 17, it was all over. Jatiya Party leader GM Quader Sir is not in the field. No instructions are available from him.’

When asked about the sharing of 26 seats, Zakir Hossain said, ‘GM Kader Sir Bhikshar’s donation has been rejected. I would have withdrawn the nomination paper if I had received the news of partition before 4 o’clock on December 17. Now that there is no chance of withdrawal, I have decided to withdraw from the polling field. I hereby announce my withdrawal from the election. I don’t have any leaders and workers in the election field.’
