Writ to confirm the presence of 30 million voters

A writ has been filed in the High Court seeking a direction to make voting compulsory for the 1.3 crore beneficiaries of the government. Supreme Court lawyer Dr. Bashir Ahmed filed this writ in public interest.

Today, Wednesday, Justice Md. The writ petition is on the agenda for hearing in a High Court bench headed by Iqbal Kabir. The Cabinet Secretary, Election Commission and the related parties have been made defendants in the writ.

He said that in many countries of the commonwealth, there is a provision to make voting mandatory for voters. In the United States, there is a mandatory provision for voting in two states. In Bangladesh, the government also needs to make voting compulsory for the benefited citizens.

The petitioner said that the direct beneficiaries of the government are 2 crore 75 lakh voters. In addition, there are a total of 30 million voters of semi-government, retired government officials and employees. I have asked for instructions to ensure the presence of these voters at the polling station. In the writ, the Cabinet Secretary, the Election Commission and the related parties have been made defendants.
