A rod fell on his head from a building under construction in Nalbhog area of Turag police station in the capital. A laborer named Helal (18) died. This incident happened on Tuesday around 9:30 am. Later, he was rescued and taken to the emergency department of the Dhaka Medical College (DMH) hospital, where the doctor declared him dead at 11:30 am.
Elder brother Bellal, who brought Helal to the hospital, said, ‘My brother used to work in the under-construction building of Nalbhog Roop Mia in Sector 12 of Turag. While carrying goods under the building while working, it suddenly fell on his head from above. Later, he was rescued and taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. From there, he was taken to Dhaka Medical for better treatment, and the doctor said that my brother is no longer alive.’
Bellal also said that he lived in that building under construction. His home is Chargolia village of Manpura police station in Barisal district. Their father’s name is Md. Noor Islam
Bachchu Mia, in-charge inspector of DMK Hospital police camp, said the body has been kept in the hospital’s emergency department morgue. The matter has been reported to Turag police station.
