However, some citizens in our country will be able to count on a short rest before this holiday arrives on the 19th.

This 2024 will only be a holiday in two autonomous communities, specifically in the Region of Murcia and the Valencian Community And San José is the patron saint of the Fallas. In addition to this day, these autonomies will also have the following holidays:

  • Murcia Region: January 1, January 6, March 19, March 28, March 29, May 1, August 15, October 12, November 1, December 6, December 9 and December 25.

National holidays in 2024

The Official State Gazette (BOE) publishes every year the work calendar that establishes national and regional holidays. This includes a total of 12 national holidays, of which nine will be held jointly throughout Spain:

  • January 1 (Monday): New Year.
  • January 6 (Saturday): Epiphany of the Lord/Three Kings’ Day.
  • March 29 (Friday): Good Friday.
  • May 1 (Wednesday): Labor Day.
  • August 15 (Thursday): Assumption of the Virgin.
  • October 12 (Saturday): National holiday of Spain.
  • November 1 (Friday): All Saints’ Day.
  • December 6 (Friday): Spanish Constitution Day.
  • December 25 (Wednesday): Christmas.

Furthermore, two regional and two local holidays must always be added to national holidays, up to a total of 16 holidays a year.
