Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chief Bilawal Bhutto said that over 10,000 workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would be released if Imran Khan’s party wins the general elections. He said this while participating in a rally in Lahore on Sunday.
General elections are scheduled to be held in Pakistan on February 8. Taking part in the rally before this election, Bilawal said that he will bury the politics of revenge and free all political prisoners.
PP chief said, Sharif’s PML-N is taking revenge against PTI. I am asking PTI workers to support me. When I come to power, I will free all political workers including PTI.’
Shehbaz Sharif was in power in Pakistan after Imran was ousted from power. Bilawal was the foreign minister during the 16-month period of that government.
The PPP chief said he asked Imran to come out of the politics of revenge, but he did not listen. And because of this his situation has become like this. Imran Khan has been in jail since last August in various cases.
Bilawal said he, his family members and PPP workers had faced political persecution at the hands of the PML-N in the past.
“I want the support of PTI workers,” the PP chief said, noting that Mother Benazir Bhutto had released all political prisoners during her tenure. I want to bury political vendettas. Pakistan is facing security challenges. Because terrorists are regrouping. If my party comes to power, it will end terrorism from the country.’
