For a long time now, there have been rumors about the arrival of the foldable smartphone of the technology giant Apple. iPhone fans will have to wait another two years for the much-anticipated foldable phone to hit the market. However, no official announcement has been made by Apple.
Recently, Korean technology news outlet Elek leaked new information about Apple’s foldable device in a report. According to the report, work has started with Apple’s foldable iPhone and iPad. This device can be launched by 2026 or 2027.
Apple plans to launch a seven- to eight-inch foldable display device, which is likely to be the company’s first foldable device. In other words, this could be the first foldable iPhone, rather than Apple’s first ‘foldable display device’. While there are rumors that the device could replace Apple’s tablets and iPad mini, it’s unlikely to happen for a number of reasons.
Last year, two South Korean tech giants LG and Samsung supplied their display panels to Apple so that they could make six- to seven-inch foldable displays. This suggests that two companies from the same country may be used by US tech giant Apple as a source for making foldable display devices. And Samsung is expected to be Apple’s primary supplier and distributor.
