When inclusion creates champions

Sillas that improve performance by 30%, athletes with disabilities who end up being Spanish champions by applying body studies, clubs that grow thanks to sponsorships and cutting-edge technologies, people at risk of exclusion who embrace sport to feel fulfilled… Sport is often the best vehicle for inclusion.

They know it well in Grupo Bolsharea company that has several companies dedicated to the operation and management of various types of assets, focused on three lines: agriculture, where they are strongest, energy (self-consumption, biomethane plants…) and a third leg of health that they have just torn off. This Spanish company has all the machinery, the ‘know how’, the staff that executes it and works with large funds that invest with them so that they manage assets and provide profitability under strict parameters of ESG and sustainability.

“From the beginning we had a clear idea, that we wanted to set up a non-profit foundation, with a social objective and a Catholic character called Queen of Peace Foundation (which is the virgin who is in Medjugorje). By statute, 50% of the profits of our companies are invested in this foundation and we promote projects focused on the real inclusion of people with disabilities through sport,” Ignacio Schmolling, head of the company, tells MARCA.

To do this, they have created the perfect mechanism by promoting a research center that will incorporate a bioergonomics laboratory to which two million euros of resources have already been dedicated within the framework of projects aimed at avoiding injuries, rehabilitation and performance optimization. elite sports In this way, they develop projects to improve sports performance, adapt each of the sports to the groups and improve and neurorehabilitate people who need it.

“The Foundation invests in sport as a formula for the real incorporation and inclusion of people with physical or intellectual disabilities through sport. And it also invests in social projects for the inclusion of these people within the world of work, which is an important variable of the reason for being of the foundation, focused on the adaptation of the work sectors at a labor and social level.

The technologies they apply, such as one that improves performance and prevents injuries in football thanks to a mechanism in the ankle and chest that measures all the movements they make or a bioergonomic study that optimizes movements to avoid injuries or strengthen specific muscles, are being tested. in the clubs associated with the project. There are them in different disciplines such as Piragismo, base and women’s ftbol, drag boats, volleyball, women’s and children’s rugby… in total around 1,600 federative records that are testing the technologies.

A CHALLENGE WITH A DOUBLE OBJECTIVE

“The idea is to have those associations and those foundations that have already shown their interest with this double purpose, that of optimizing sports performance because all our projects must be sustainable to, in addition, have financial resources that allow us to maintain the laboratory. Because the basis and reason for promoting all this by the foundation is the real inclusion of groups of people with disabilities,” summarizes Schmolling.

THE DRAGN BOAT EXPERIENCE

The Foundation developed the project Dragon Boat for Breast Cancer Survival. This sport has proven not only to be physically beneficial, helping to recover muscles and reduce pain, but also psychologically. The foundation advocates that being part of a team of women who have faced similar experiences not only strengthens the mind, but also creates deep social bonds and invaluable emotional support. On the other hand, the foundation itself can boast of having promoted a team made up of people with intellectual disabilities who today are champions of Spain three times over. And at the end of the year he will participate in the World Cup of the discipline.

“This is one of our projects. What we do with them is give them a hand, we give them technology, we give them sponsorship and then, from the foundation, we act as securities auditors so that they get involved because they have an impact on the foundation. That’s why “We set up the research center,” confirms someone who admits that the global investment is 400,000 euros for the next three years in the university chair that will work in both areas, work and sports, in addition to another two million for the software. measurement of all these parameters. Furthermore, in fund racing, there are 60 potential investors whose minimum ticket is 150,000 and can reach up to 500,000 euros.

“We are generally talking about an important version. We don’t know how to play small. Since the foundation, different groups were asking us to sponsor one team or another, that’s why we wanted to professionalize it by auditing values and improving physical performances for that incorporation”, he adds. Regarding what other foundations did in the past, Ignacio believes that it is “the absolute commitment to technology at the most advanced level and, second, the values. It is a social component that we give to the club so that it is a safe place for that each athlete can give their best, hence the social initiatives,” adds Myriam Giganto, chief commercial officer of the company.

STRAIGHTS IN THE FUTURE

Once the constitution of the research center is completed, they will begin the fund racing for the incorporation of new partners in this research center. And once with the capital they will begin “to develop projects while in parallel we have already advanced the measurement software on the one hand and on the other the study of adaptability in the chair that lasts three years. All these clubs are already with us and now the “The idea is to apply the lines we are creating to them.” Sports and the social factor are growing in Spain thanks to the Bolschare Group.
