Last year, the Bangladesh cricket team had a busy time. Despite success at home, they have disappointed in the World Cup. The New Zealand tour at the end of the year again showed a glimmer of hope. Nazmul Hossain Shanto will have a busy time in the new year.

Bangladesh will play 14 Tests in 12 months of this year. Earlier, the maximum 12 Tests played in a year was in 2022. Last year, only 4 Tests were played in Bangladesh, of which the Shantars won all three.

Apart from T20 World Cup, Bangladesh will play 17 T20 matches in bilateral series this year. They will play relatively less matches of 50 overs. Bangladesh played 32 one-day matches last year and will play 9 one-day matches in 2024.
