Tamim Iqbal wants to end his career as a player and start a new career as a commentator. Tamim has said this many times. He also got the experience of sitting in the commentary room with BPL. But international cricket is a bigger stage. It is not an easy thing to sit and talk about the game with Bagha Bagha commentator. Tamim Iqbal has also experienced that.
Tamim Iqbal became a commentator on February 14 this year on Valentine’s Day. Tamim commented on a match of the eliminator round of BPL. He never hid his weakness for this work. Rather, this opener wants to become a professional commentator after finishing his career. Tamim is out of the game at the moment. After removing himself from the World Cup team, he is not playing in the series against New Zealand.
Although not playing on the field, Tamim is in the Dhaka Test against New Zealand. Tamim turned commentator for an hour on the first day of the second Test of the series at Mirpur. Tamim’s voice was heard in the commentary box of Mirpur in two rounds. Tamim gave commentary in the first phase from 12:40 to 1:10 and in the second phase from 1:40 to 2:10.
Tamim is very happy to commentate. This opener has got the thrill of a new debut. Tamim wrote on the social media Facebook, ‘I have come to this field countless times, but this time is different. I felt the thrill of debut as if anew.’
Tamim’s career in international cricket is now shrouded in deep fog. Cricketers are quite skeptical about whether he will be seen in the national team again or not. Tamim also said that he will soon be seen as a commentator again. The fresh thinking at this stage of career is quite clear in this statement.
Tamim wrote, ‘Earlier I gave some commentary in BPL. However, commentary in international matches, especially in Test matches, is different. Enjoyed the opening day very much. Thanks to my co-commentators, producers and all concerned for making my presence enjoyable. Hopefully, you will see me again with the microphone very soon.’
But will Tamim build a new career as a commentator?
