Hassan Nasrallah, the head of the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah, said, “We can no longer remain silent after the killing of the deputy head of the Palestinian independence organization Hamas in Beirut.” If Israel decides to extend the war from Gaza to Lebanon, Hezbollah’s armed forces will fight to the end.

According to Al Jazeera, Nasrullah said these things in a televised speech on Wednesday. Hassan Nasrallah blamed Israel for the attack, while Hamas deputy chief Saleh al-Arouri called the killing an open act of aggression.

Last Tuesday, the Israeli forces targeted the Hamas office in Dahiye, south of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. Later, Hamas officially confirmed the death of 7 people, including Deputy Chief Arouri.

Saleh al-Arouri, 57, was a founding member of Hamas’ military wing and head of the Palestinian faction in the West Bank, Gaza. Arouri, who grew up in Ramallah in the West Bank, spent 15 years in an Israeli prison. He had been living in Lebanon for a long time. He came forward as a military spokesman of Hamas since the conflict with Israel started on October 7.

Meanwhile, Lebanon has announced that it will file a complaint against Israel in the UN Security Council regarding the attack in Beirut. However, the Israeli military did not directly respond to this.

However, Israeli forces said they had targeted the militant group’s bases along Lebanon’s southern border. Since last October 8, Hezbollah has clashed with Israeli forces on the Lebanese border. So far, 120 fighters of the armed group and hundreds of civilians have been killed in these clashes. On the other hand, at least 11 Israeli soldiers were killed in Hezbollah’s counterattack.
