Violation of code of conduct, chaplain to boat candidate in Chapainawabganj-1 seat

Awami League candidate and current Member of Parliament Samil Uddin Ahmed Shimul in Chapainawabganj-1 Constituency has been given a show cause notice (show cause notice) for violating the code of conduct.

Election Inquiry Committee Chairman Senior Assistant Judge M Sarwar Jahan sent the show cause notice on Saturday. The responsible sources of the Election Investigation Committee have confirmed this information.

According to the notice, this Awami League candidate will have to appear in person at the office of the Election Investigation Committee tomorrow Sunday at 11:00 am and give a written explanation. Samil Uddin Ahmed Shimul District Awami League Joint General Secretary.

The notice states, campaigning before the legal time for campaigning, public gatherings for the purpose of campaigning; Which is a clear violation of the rules of conduct of political parties and candidates in the 2018 parliamentary elections.

The notice quoted several media reports as saying that Samil Uddin Ahmed Shimul gathered thousands of people in the courtyard of his house in the name of exchange meeting and conducted election campaign and had biryani feast. He also requested to vote for the boat symbol by promising the development of the area.

Apart from this, the notice has asked to explain why the Election Commission will not be recommended to take action as per the rules due to the violation of the election rules.

Earlier, the Election Investigation Committee issued a show-cause notice to Syed Nazrul Islam, an independent candidate in Chapainawabganj-1 constituency and district Awami League vice-president, for violating the code of conduct.
