The Great Victory Day was celebrated with due dignity at the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Various programs were organized on the premises of the Consulate General on Saturday.
Consul General BM Jamal Hossain hoisted the national flag in the presence of consulate officials, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Janata Bank officials and expatriate Bangladeshis by performing the national anthem at 8:30 am in the first phase.
Then, under the leadership of the Consul General, the officers and employees of the consulate placed wreaths on the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Later, leaders of various government institutions and local community organizations presented wreaths one by one.
In the second phase, the Victory Day celebrations began with recitation from the Holy Quran and a minute’s silence. In the beginning, the messages sent by the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs were read out by the senior officials of the Consulate on the occasion of Great Victory Day.
In the discussion meeting, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest father of the Bengali nation, four national leaders, 3 million martyrs, brave freedom fighters and 200,000 mothers and sisters were remembered with deep respect.
