Victory Day Celebration at Bangladesh Embassy in Qatar

The embassy authorities celebrated the 52nd anniversary of the glorious victory of the Great War of Independence with due dignity and solemnity at the premises of the Bangladesh Embassy in Doha, the capital of Qatar. The main programs of the Victory Day included hoisting of the national flag along with the national anthem, speeches by the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, screening of documentaries on the great independence of Bangladesh and the country’s development, and discussion meetings.

The Victory Day program started that morning with the official hoisting of the national flag. Ambassador Md. in the presence of expatriate Bangladeshis and all embassy officials in the embassy premises. Nazrul Islam hoisted the national flag. After that, a special prayer was offered for the peace of the souls of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the martyrs of the Independence War and for the overall welfare of the country under the leadership of the Prime Minister.

In the second phase of the Victory Day celebration, the discussion meeting on the occasion of the Great Victory Day began in the Embassy Auditorium. The senior officials of the embassy read out the messages sent by the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and State Minister for Foreign Affairs in front of the guests. A large number of expatriate Bangladeshis and Bangladesh community leaders, including brave freedom fighters, professors and teachers of renowned universities and colleges in Qatar, Bangladeshi students studying in various universities, prominent established businessmen, professionals, and laborers of Bangladesh, participated in the Victory Day ceremony.

In the President’s speech at the Victory Day ceremony, the Ambassador thanked and thanked all the guests. At the beginning of his speech, he reverently recalled the undisputed leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the great liberation war of Bangladesh. He paid deep respect to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Nine Months War.

The ambassador expressed his condolences to the injured freedom fighters, heroes and their family members. He appealed to the countrymen and expatriates irrespective of party, creed and caste to work together to realize the dreams of the brave freedom fighters.

At the end of the event, all those present were treated to a traditional Bengali lunch.
