US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in Amman, the capital of Jordan, on a visit to the Middle East. He embarked on a week-long visit to the region amid regional tensions over Israeli aggression in Palestine.

The news is from Qatar-based media Al-Jazeera.

This is Blinken’s fourth visit to the Middle East amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war. Earlier on Friday, he went to Ankara for a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a social media post on Saturday, ‘Jordan is an important partner in preventing the spread of conflict in the region. We are grateful for their leadership in providing assistance to the civilians of Gaza.’

Anthony Blinken’s current tour includes Turkey, Greece, Jordan, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Israel and Egypt.

Israel has been continuously attacking Gaza for almost three months since October 7. More than 22,000 Palestinians have been killed so far in this barbaric attack. More than 56 thousand were injured. America has sided with Israel in this conflict since the beginning. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has visited Israel several times, along with US President Joe Biden.
