A driver named Ashraf Hussain (42) was killed when the wheel of a CNG autorickshaw burst in Ulan area of Hatirjheel in the capital. The accident happened around 4:30 pm on Monday.
Later, when the driver Ashraf was brought to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a stupor, the doctor in charge declared him dead.
Pedestrian Mujahidul Islam who brought Ashraf to the hospital said, ‘The front wheel of the CNG autorickshaw burst while moving in the afternoon. In this, the CNGT lost control and overturned. Later some of us pedestrians rescued the driver of that CNG and took him to Dhaka Medical, the doctor said that he is no longer alive.’
The name of the CNG driver can be identified by looking at his driving license. His house is in Nandail Thana area of Mymensingh district.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp Inspector Bachchu Mia said that the body has been kept in the hospital’s emergency department morgue. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station.
