A young man named Sourav Hossain Sajjad was killed in a clash between two sides of Kishore gangs over dominance in Sadar Upazila of Noakhali. The incident took place at Bandherhat East Bazar of Noannai Union at around 2 pm on Monday. Four others were injured in this incident.

The injured were first treated at the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital. Later three were sent to Dhaka for better treatment.
Police arrested three people in this incident. They are Rakib Uddin (25), Riaz Uddin (23) and Arif Uddin (25).
According to police and eyewitnesses, there is a dispute between two youth gangs named Sifat and Riyad over the domination of Noannai Union. Today at noon, the chase and clash started between the two sides. At that time, five people including Sajjad were injured by the sharp weapons of the opponent. The local people rescued them and took them to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital, where doctors declared Sajjad dead. Three of the remaining victims were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
Noakhali District Police Superintendent Mohammad Asaduzzaman said that both parties involved in the conflict are known as followers of Awami League activist Ashraful Karim Babu, who was the chairman candidate in Noannai Union in the last Union Parishad election. The three arrested persons are being interrogated at the police station. Operations are continuing in the area to nab others involved in the incident. Preparations are underway to file a case in the police station.
