Pakistan’s Test series in Australia, Ricky Ponting was in the commentary room of the Australian media Channel Seven in the first Test of the series in Perth. Australia won the Test by 360 runs in four days. Although he provided commentary for the first three days of the Test, Ponting was not seen in the commentary room on the day Australia’s victory was confirmed.

The reason? The Australian legend is the coach of Delhi Capitals in IPL. Ponting left Australia early to attend the IPL auction in Dubai tomorrow.

On the other hand, Sydney Thunder coach Trevor Bayliss will not be in the dugout for his team’s match tomorrow in Australia’s T20 League Big Bash. The reason? IPL auction! This Australian coach is also the coach of Punjab Kings in the IPL!

Daniel Vettori, one of Australia’s assistant coaches, will also be at the IPL auction on Tuesday. Legendary New Zealand spinner is the new coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL. However, he went to Dubai immediately after the Australia-Pakistan Test!

The issue of Vettori is not being discussed so much, but the Australians are tired of Ponting-Bellis leaving Australia by abandoning their responsibilities in the IPL.

Australian news outlet News.com.au wrote, ‘The news that Bayliss has physically joined the IPL auction has sparked a storm, as the former England coach is leaving his team’s match at the Big Bash this week to do so!’

Another Australian media, Code Sports, brought up the totalitarian form of IPL in their report, ‘Ponting left the Test early, it speaks of the grandfathering of IPL.’
