Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has said that Donald Trump has promised to cut US funding to Ukraine if he wins the November presidential election.

The two politicians, who have long been on good terms, met on Friday at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

In an interview with the M1 television station on Sunday, Orban revealed several details of the discussion “Donald Trump will not give a penny to the Ukrainian-Russian war” if he returns to the White House.

“If the US does not provide the money, the Europeans themselves will not be able to finance this war and the war will end,” he explained.

Although Trump is not yet back in office, his party is already preventing Democrats from allocating more money to the conflict, Orbán said, citing continued opposition from some Republicans to the Biden administration’s push for an additional $60 billion in military aid to Kiev. .

Last week, Trump became the presumptive Republican nominee for the Nov. 5 ballot when his last remaining challenger, Nikki Haley, suspended her campaign after losing primaries to him in 14 of 15 states.
