On the occasion of the 12th National Assembly elections, a ban has been placed on tourist travel to Saint Martin’s Island in Cox’s Bazar. From January 6th to January 8th, tourist ships will not operate in Teknaf Saint Martin Island. Also, all hotels and guest houses on the island will be closed.

Additional District Magistrate of Cox’s Bazar Yamin Hossain informed this information.

He said that the district administration has taken such a decision to ensure that no violence or sabotage takes place in the elections. All tourists staying on the island of Saint Martin must leave the island on January 5. From next January 9, the ship movement will start as usual. 8 ships regularly ply the Teknaf Saint Martin route.

Meanwhile, Additional District Magistrate of Cox’s Bazar, Yamin Hossain, said that only on January 7, no outsider will be allowed to stay in all hotels, motels and guest houses in Cox’s Bazar district.
