Six people were killed by a tornado in the southeastern state of Tennessee. Apart from this, 23 more people are receiving treatment in the hospital. This has been reported in a report of Indian media NDTV.
Tornadoes wreaked havoc across Tennessee on Saturday, authorities said. As a result, many houses were severely damaged, nearly one lakh people were left without electricity. Apart from this, 6 people died. Three of the dead were residents of the North Shore of Tennessee’s state capital, Nashville.
Images shared by Nashville’s Department of Emergency Management on social media showed downed trees and damaged homes.
In a post on social media X (formerly Twitter), the Nesbitt Lane Authority said, “Unfortunately, three people died as a result of the tornado.”
In addition, a tornado hit Clarksville in the northern part of the state. There were also casualties. “We can confirm that three people have died,” the Montgomery County government said in a statement. Among them are two adults and one child.’ Apart from this, 23 people were injured and are undergoing treatment in the hospital, the statement said.
According to America’s Outage Tracking site, 86,000 people across the state were without power after the tornado hit.
