The 20th edition of the Third Eye Asian Film Festival is going to be held in Mumbai from January 12 to 18. Filmmaker Khandkar Suman’s ‘Santao’, Noor Imran Mithu’s ‘Patal Ghar’ and Syeda Nigar Banu’s ‘Nona Pani’ have been nominated for this year’s event.
The story of the struggling life of a farmer, the universal form of women’s motherhood and the joys and sorrows, laughter and tears of a harmonious community has been presented on the film screen. Ainun Putul and Fazlul Haque acted in the lead roles. The film was recently released on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video, which will only be available to viewers in the US and UK. Viewers in Bangladesh can watch it on the streaming platform Biscope.
Meanwhile, Patalghar is built on the story of mother-daughter psychological tension. It stars Afsana Mimi, Nusrat Faria, Mamunur Rashid, Salahuddin Lovelu, Ghiyasuddin Salim, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Nazia Haque Arsha, Dipanbita Martin, Raonak Hasan, Nasir Uddin Khan, Moutusi Biswas, Erfan Mridha Shiblu and others. The film has already released on OTT platform Charki.
The story of the movie Nona Pani revolves around the story of a rural town on the coast of Khulna. In the context of the present day, their daily life has come up. Nasir Uddin Khan, Jayita Mahalanbish, Bilquis Banu, Rubel and many other actors acted in the film. It is not yet released in the country. The film will be screened in Dhaka for the first time on January 26 at 7 pm in the main auditorium of the National Museum.
