United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres congratulated Sheikh Hasina for being re-elected as Prime Minister. Guterres said in a message that the entire UN team is committed to work with the current government for the sake of the people of Bangladesh.

In a letter written to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the UN Secretary General said, ‘I congratulate you for being re-elected as the Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.’

The letter also stated that the United Nations highly values ​​the partnership with Bangladesh. Guterres also mentioned in the letter that Bangladesh is making important contributions to the organization’s peacekeeping missions, cooperation with Rohingya refugees and efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The UN Secretary-General said, ‘I appreciate your participation in the Global Crisis Response Group and believe that I can continue to count on your support in our ambitions to address growing global challenges, including the fight against climate change and the urgent need to reform the international financial framework.’

Earlier, eight other countries congratulated Sheikh Hasina in separate messages. Countries include – United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Egypt, Luxembourg, Turkey, Singapore, Malaysia and Brazil.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his congratulatory message congratulated Sheikh Hasina on her re-election as Prime Minister after the general election of Bangladesh and said, “I am confident that the existing relationship between our two countries based on historical and cultural ties will be deeper and stronger in your new term.”

In a separate message, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi extended his warm congratulations to Sheikh Hasina on her victory in the general elections for a new term as Prime Minister of Bangladesh, saying, ‘Your re-election to this high office reflects the trust and confidence of the people of your country in your capable leadership to achieve further progress for your country. does.’

In his congratulatory letter, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva lauded Sheikh Hasina’s leadership in her fourth term as prime minister, exemplified by her government’s remarkable achievements in social and economic fields.

Congratulating Sheikh Hasina, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim wrote in a congratulatory message, ‘On behalf of the government and people of Malaysia, I congratulate you for taking oath for the fourth term as the Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.’

In separate letters, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Luxembourg’s Vice-Prime Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Cooperation And Humanitarian Affairs Minister Xavier Bettel has expressed his sincere congratulations and best wishes to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for achieving an absolute majority in the twelfth national election of Bangladesh.

They wished the Prime Minister of Bangladesh good health and happiness and further welfare and prosperity of the government and people of Bangladesh.

Awami League formed the government for the fourth consecutive time with a majority of more than two-thirds in the 12th National Parliament election held on January 7. With this, Sheikh Hasina became the Prime Minister of the country for the fifth time, whose record is unmatched by any other politician.

Since the victory, various countries have continued to wish and congratulate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
