Police have arrested two people for cheating by opening a Facebook page in Narail in the name of selling products. They were arrested from Kalia area of ‚Äč‚ÄčNarail Sadar on Monday. These fraudsters are said to have stolen about 24 lakhs through Bikash account.

Narail Superintendent of Police told this information in a press briefing at the office of the Superintendent of Police on Tuesday afternoon. Mehdi Hassan.

The arrested persons are – 2 sons of Abdul Quddus Sheikh of Jadavpur village of Kalia upazila of Narail. Shahjalal Sheikh and Md. Shah Zaman

Narail Superintendent of Police. Mehdi Hasan said that fraudsters were deceiving in the name of buying and selling products by opening a page on Facebook called ‘Ellora Fashion’. On December 14, a complaint was filed against them at Narail Sadar police station, and after the police investigated and found the truth of the complaint, a fraud case was filed on January 8.

Md. Mehdi Hasan also said that 9 mobile phones used for fraud and 16 SIMs registered under different names were recovered from them. The arrested persons admitted to fraudulently embezzling about Rs. 24 lakhs in the Bikash account.

There are two other cases under the Digita Security Act against the arrested persons in 2018 in Dhaka’s Kotyali Police Station and in 2022 in Dhaka’s Hazaribagh Police Station.
