Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said that big countries want to sell many things to Bangladesh. But Bangladesh takes what it needs for the well-being of its people, it doesn’t buy anything unless it is needed. So some countries are dissatisfied and raise various complaints.

After meeting with the European Union observer team at his residence in Sylhet on Wednesday, Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen told reporters.

The foreign minister said, “The members of the European Union observer team asked various questions about the election but did not express any opinion.”

Mentioning that there were 1 crore 23 lakh fake voters during BNP, the minister said, ‘There will be no fake votes in this election.’

Dr. Momen said, he told the delegation – ‘The strong commission of the government is working to make the elections fair and neutral in the country. Will make an election that everyone in the world will learn from.

When the observation team asked about the arrest of BNP leaders and workers, the foreign minister said that no leaders and workers of their (BNP) party were arrested. Law enforcement forces have arrested those involved in terrorist activities.

European Union Election Observation Team’s Legal and Human Rights Expert Rebecca Cox and Media and Social Media Expert Charlotte Suibes took part in the exchange meeting at the Sylhet residence of the Foreign Minister on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

After the meeting, the delegation also visited the Chief Election Office of the Foreign Minister.
