Minister of Housing and Public Works Ram Ubaidul Moktadir Chowdhury has warned that he will not be spared if he plays with the price of goods. He said, hoarding of any kind will not be tolerated. At the same time warning the political opponents, he said, ‘Their nefarious plot will not be tolerated.’
Moktadir Chowdhury gave this warning at the public reception given to him at Niaz Muhammad Stadium in Brahmanbaria city on Saturday afternoon.
Moktadir Chowdhury is a 4-time Member of Parliament elected from Brahmanbaria Sadar Constituency and District Awami League President. District Awami League organized this reception as he was appointed as the Housing and Public Works Minister of the new government.
In the speech of the chief guest at the public reception, Moktadir Chowdhury said, ‘We request those who play sports with the price of goods in this Ramadan not to do so. No one will be spared if they play sports. As a minister of the government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and as an employee of the people’s leader Sheikh Hasina, I have said that there is no issue of fines. will be sent directly to jail. We want to keep the month of fasting free from everything.’
The minister said, ‘At the same time, I want to tell our political opponents that you tried a lot to thwart the election. You have failed. Ekramuzzaman (independently elected MP and ousted advisor to BNP Chairperson Syed AK Ekramuzzaman) said the election was held in a very joyful atmosphere. Moin (independently elected MP; Awami League leader Md. Moin Uddin) said that even he himself could not have imagined such a beautiful, impartial election. I also think the election was fair. As long as you talk about the movement peacefully, as long as you hold rallies and marches peacefully, we will not face any problem. If you have any nefarious plot, then as Awami League has said it will not be tolerated in the context of Bangladesh, similarly in the context of Brahmanbaria, I am saying with my political colleagues, we will not support any kind of avarice, ferocity in the name of movement, destructive work, it will not be allowed to happen. So be careful about this.’
Moktadir Chowdhury also said to the opposition party, ‘If you are peaceful, we will not say anything against you. If you are restless, if you make fire, go out with sticks, it will never bring you good. I will not allow any act that disturbs public peace.’

He remembered Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister and Bangladesh Awami League President Sheikh Hasina for giving him the ministry. Besides, Moktadir Chowdhury expressed his gratitude to the people for giving him the opportunity to become an MP and minister by voting for him.
