A 40-year-old man died after being attacked by a tiger in Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh state, India. His name is Gangaram Yadav. Indian media NDTV reported that this incident happened on Tuesday.
According to local officials, Gangaram Yadav, a resident of Jamunia Khas village in Madhoutanda police station area of Pilivit district, was missing since last Monday. His half-eaten body was found eating a sugarcane on Tuesday.
Navin Khandelwal, deputy director of the Pilivit Tiger Reserve, said his half-decomposed body suggested that he had been attacked by a tiger. We are tracking the movement of tigers in the Mathna Bit of the Mala Range of Forests.
In India there have been cases of death by tiger paws before. In 2017, a park ranger was mauled to death by two white tigers at the Banerghata Biological Park near Bengaluru in Karnataka state.
