All the trains from Rajshahi were stopped due to the broken railway line. The railway line was broken between Arani and Nandangachi stations of Rajshahi around 11:30 on Monday. Passengers of a train survived the accident thanks to the wisdom of local farmers. Later some rail traffic started slowly.
Eyewitnesses said that when the Barendra Express from Chilahati to Rajshahi reached between Arani and Nandangachi stations, the local people stopped the train by showing red cloth. Earlier, people working on the land in the area found some parts of the railway line broken. To avoid an accident, some people stopped the Barendra Express train by showing red clothes. Later the matter was reported to Adani station master.
Asim Kumar Talukder, General Manager of Western Railway, said that these railway lines built in 1955 sometimes break down. But it can be fixed in a very short time. In Rajshahi too, the railway track that broke between Arani and Nandangachi stations will be repaired soon.
Meanwhile, the stuck Barendra Express train has left for Rajshahi. However, considering safety, the rest of the trains will start running after the complete repair of the railway line. Asim Kumar Talukder, General Manager of Western Railway said that the schedule of any other train will not be affected in this incident.
