An old woman named Ayesha Begum did not return home after voting in a center of Laxmipur-2 constituency. He died on his way back after voting at Rakhalia No. 2 Government Primary School Center of Sonapur Union of Raipur Upazila on Sunday afternoon.
Locals said that while returning home after voting, Ayesha Begum suddenly fell ill near the center and collapsed on the ground. He died on the spot.
The deceased Ayesha Begum was a resident of Lalgazi Mizhi house in Rakhalia area of Ward No. 3 of Sonapur Union of Upazila.
Maruf Bin Zakaria, Vice-Chairman of Upazila Parishad and Organizing Secretary of Raipur Upazila Awami League, confirmed his death in the afternoon. He said, ‘Ayesha Begum’s family is involved in Awami League politics. On Sunday, he came to the center to cast his vote in a boat with his relatives. He died on the way back home after voting.’
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Raipur Police Station. Yachin Farooq Majumder said, ‘No one has informed about the death of the old man. But the matter is being looked into.’
