The new price of soybean oil is not in the market

The new rate of soybean oil has not been implemented in the market. Although there is a reduction of Tk 10 per litre, it is being sold at the previous price. The sellers excuse, the new price of oil has not yet been supplied by the marketing agencies. Meanwhile, there is no relief in the prices of sugar and dates.

On February 20, the Ministry of Commerce decided to reduce the price of soybean oil by Tk 10 per liter. Soybean oil is supposed to be sold at Tk 163 per liter from March 1, but it remains only on paper.

On Friday, one can see that soybean oil is being sold at Tk 166 to Tk 168 per liter in the markets of the capital. The vendors had questions as to why the government directives were not being followed. They claim that the new price of oil has not yet been given by the company. So it has to be sold at the previous price.

A vendor at Caravan Bazaar said, ‘I don’t know what the company has done. When we go to take it from the dealer, they deduct 3 thousand 300 rupees from us. no less What do we do? The government has promised to reduce the price but we have not yet received low-priced oil.’

Buyers are angry because of the lack of impact on the market. Their complaint is that everyone is hostage to 5 to 6 companies.

A buyer said, ‘According to people’s income, their expenses are very high. There is no reason for the price of goods to increase before Ramadan.

Meanwhile, the price of sugar and dates has not come down even though the duty has been reduced. A kg of dates is not available in the market below Tk 280. Sugar has to be bought at 150 to 160 taka per kg.

Another buyer said, ‘The price of dates should be reduced further. Otherwise, common people will not actually go towards eating. People are in a lot of trouble. As you think, I came here, the price of many things is extra.’

The price of farm chicken eggs has been reduced by Tk 5 per dozen and is being sold at Tk 130. However, the price of meat has increased. Broiler chicken is being sold at Tk 210 and beef at Tk 750 per kg.
