The Law Minister won a hat-trick in Brahmanbaria-4 seat

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Haque has been elected privately in Brahmanbaria-4 (Kasba-Akhaura) seat. In this constituency, he got a total of 220,667 votes.

Anisul Haque was elected Member of National Parliament with the boat symbol in the 2014 and 2018 elections. Anisul Haque is also the only person in the history of Bangladesh to hold the responsibility of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs for two consecutive terms.

Anisul Haque’s nearest rival National People’s Party candidate Shaheen Khan got 6586 votes. He elected with ‘Mango’ symbol. Chayed Zafarul Qudduch of Tariqat Federation got 4574 votes under the symbol of ‘Fule Mala’.

The average vote in this parliamentary seat consisting of two upazilas is 58.13 percent.

There are 118 polling stations in this constituency consisting of two upazilas. Among them 74 centers in Kasba upazila and 44 in Akhaura upazila.

Law Minister’s father is a renowned lawyer of the subcontinent, one of the members of the Constituent Assembly and the Constitution Drafting Committee, Sirajul Haque, the chief counsel in the Bangabandhu assassination case, was also a member of Parliament from this constituency.
