The body of an old woman named Jochna Begum (70) was recovered from her house in Netrakona town with her hands and feet tied. According to the police, the miscreants escaped by strangulation. His body was recovered from Newtown Bilpar area of ​​the city yesterday at around 11:30 pm.

Jochna Begum is the wife of deceased Abul Munsi of Newtown Bilpar area of ​​the city.

The police and locals said that one of Jochna Begum’s three sons lives in Bogra and one in Barisal. Eldest son lived with Milton Molla in Newtown Bilpar house. About 10 days ago, Milton went to Barisal on personal business. Milton’s wife also went to her father’s house in Atpara of the district. Because of this Jochna Begum was alone at home for several days.

Yesterday, Monday, son Milton could not talk to his mother despite repeated phone calls throughout the day. Later, at around 10:30 PM, his uncle Ferdous broke the lock of the door and entered the house and found Jochna’s body lying on the floor with her hands and feet tied. After reporting to the police station, the police went and recovered the body. At that time, the things inside the room were in a disorderly condition and the steel cupboards were open.

Confirming the matter, Netrakona District Police spokesperson Additional Superintendent of Police Lutfur Rahman said that the body was recovered and sent to Netrakona Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Preparations are underway to file a case at the police station.

Meanwhile, after the recovery of the body, the PBI has started an investigation to unravel the mystery of this murder. District PBI inspector Abhi Ranjan Dev said that they are investigating whether miscreants or family members are involved in the murder or not.
