The performance of the last ODI World Cup has changed Pakistan’s cricket. Babar Azmara could not even come close to the edge of his own strength. It was the same story after the failed World Cup tour of Australia and New Zealand. Zaka Ashraf resigned from the post of PCB chief a few days ago after losing after losing. The reason given is that it is not possible for him to continue in the way he wanted to improve cricket.

After Zaka Ashraf, there was a lot of discussion about who is going to be the next PCB chief. Now the media of Pakistan has ended that discussion. Mohsin Naqbi Zaka, the Chief Minister of the caretaker government of Punjab, succeeds Ashraf.

According to the local media of Pakistan, Cricket Pakistan said in a report that Mohsin Naqbi is the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ‘Management Committee’.

Zaka Ashraf announced his departure in a PCB meeting recently. Pakistan’s media outlet Geo News reported the news as ‘source’.

‘I was working for the betterment of cricket, but it is not possible for us to continue working like this. Now everything is in the hands of the Prime Minister (PM Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar), he will nominate anyone (as PCB chief) of his choice’ – Zaka Ashraf said at the ongoing meeting of the PCB committee, Geo News quoted sources as saying.

After the resignation of Zaka Ashraf, the Prime Minister of Pakistan nominated Naqbi as the chief patron of the PCB. The decision of the PCB election has been decided within the next two weeks. After that, Mohsin Naqbi will officially become the head of PCB.

After the news of Naqbi becoming the PCB chief came out in the media, he said, ‘I will try to solve the issues that are harming Pakistan cricket. It’s just a matter of time to shape cricket.’

After the 4-1 T20 series loss in New Zealand, Pakistani cricketers are busy in BPL and ILT-2020. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s biggest cricket season PSL is going to start on February 17. Before that, Mohsin Naqbi will officially take over as PCB chief.
