Amar Ekushe Book Fair is starting today. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the fair at 3 pm. Bangla Academy premises and Suhrawardy Udyan will be full of readers and writers.

Yesterday, Wednesday, the workers were busy with the final preparations of the stalls. Mostly color and design work is done on this day. However, this time they had to work in a hurry, said the people related to the publication. They said that after allotment of stalls, they got less time for construction work.

The fair premises and surrounding areas are fully covered by CC cameras. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman inspected the security system on Wednesday.

After the inspection, DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman said that the security plan has been arranged keeping in mind previous incidents of vandalism and terrorist activities at the book fair. But there is no specific threat.

A breast feeding corner has been kept for women and children at the book fair. 937 stalls have been given to 635 institutions. There are 137 pavilions. There are 8 gates for reader-visitor entry.
