The police recovered the body of a youth named Hasan from a place between two buildings in an alley in Jatrabari area of the capital. The police believe that the young man died after falling down from the five-storey building while stealing the grill.
The police recovered the body after Friday afternoon and sent it to Dhaka Medical College (Dhamek) Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
It is known that the deceased Hasan Bhola is the son of Shamsuddin of Sadar Upazila. Currently lives in Mirhajir Bagh area. Previously worked as a transport worker but was now unemployed.
Deputy Inspector (SI) of Jatrabari police station. Sabbir Hossain said, ‘We arrived at the scene after getting the news on emergency service 999 at noon. There I saw the dead body of the young man lying between two buildings in the lane of Sonali Hotel adjacent to the Mirhajir Bagh Raw Market. Later, with the information of the members of the forensic team of the CID, various signs of the dead body of the person were collected.
Sabbir Hossain, quoting the people around, said that the young man fell down while stealing from the railing of the fifth floor of the building. He may have died on the spot. However, the body has been kept at the DMK morgue for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death. Legal process is ongoing in this regard.
