The police recovered the body of a person named Nazmul Haque (47) from the Taj Mahal residential hotel in Fakirapool of the capital. The doctor in charge of the emergency department declared him dead when he was brought to the Dhaka Medical College (DMH) hospital in an unconscious state on Saturday around 2:30 pm.
Nazmul Haque Narayanganj Sonargaon Thana Qutubpur Village Md. Hazrat Ali’s son. It is said that he was a jute cloth merchant of garments by profession.
Motijheel police station sub-inspector (SI) confirmed the matter. Sohag Chowdhury said that after receiving the news around noon today, we rescued the person unconscious on the bed from the 2nd floor room of Taj Mahal residential hotel in Fakirapool. Later, when he was quickly brought to Dhaka Medical, the doctor in charge said that he was no longer alive.
Md. Sohag Chowdhury also said that from the registry book of the hotel, the person went to room 2 of the second floor from last January 11. It is said that he was a jute cloth merchant of garments by profession. We have informed his family members. The body has been kept at Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death. Legal proceedings are ongoing in this regard.
