The bodies of Khokon Mia (34) and Rashid Dhalli (60), who were missing in the incident of fire set by miscreants in the Mohanganj Express train in Tejgaon railway station area of ​​the capital, have been identified. After the post-mortem, the railway police handed over the bodies of the two to their families.

The police handed over Khokon Mia’s body to his wife Sajan and Rashid Dhali’s body to his son Mamun around 3:30 pm on Wednesday.

Belal Ahmed, the nephew of the deceased Rashid Dhalli, said, “I came to the Dhaka Medical College (Dhamek) hospital after receiving the news and identified my uncle’s body.” I can recognize my uncle by the amulet on his waist, the ring on his hand, the clothes on his body. Later his son Mamun came and identified his uncle’s body. After the post-mortem, the police handed over the body to us. From here you will be taken to the main market of Netrakona. Burial will be done there after the funeral.

Sajan, the wife of missing Khokon, said, ‘He went to Sunamganj on Thursday with my mother-in-law and my younger daughter for Vasti’s wedding. He left for Dhaka by train on Monday night. I spoke to him on my mobile phone at 9 o’clock that night, after that I did not speak to him again. Later I came to know that four people died in the fire in the train. But I did not get connection after calling my husband’s mobile many times.’

‘I came to Dhaka Medical Morgue and saw two dead bodies. I recognized one of the dead bodies as my husband wearing Punjabi clothes, teeth marks and facial features. The police have handed over the body to us after post-mortem after identifying it. We will go to Sunamganj with the body and he will be buried there after the funeral.’ Sajan added.

Khokon’s wife Sajan also said, ‘My husband also works in Avanti Color Textiles of Crony Group. My husband was working as an assistant operator in that textile. We live in Bisik area of ​​Narayanganj with one son and one daughter.’

Kamalapur Railway Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Setafur Rahman said, ‘Relatives of two families identified the bodies. Based on their identification, the bodies were handed over to the relatives after the post-mortem.
