Several stars of the entertainment arena are interested in getting a place in the reserved women’s seat in the 12th National Parliament. Today (February 6) they collected the nomination form from the Awami League office in Bangladesh. Among them are Nipun Akhtar, Meher Afroz Shaon, Sohana Saba, Apu Biswas, Shahanur and Urmila Srabanti Kar.

Many people came to collect the nomination form from the party’s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue and confronted the journalists. Sohana Saba said, ‘My father was a brave freedom fighter. I also want to be a candidate from the Awami League following my father’s example. Earlier the actress was not directly involved in politics. But he participated in the election campaign.

Apu said that he has collected the form for Bogra 6 constituencies. He commented, ‘If the honorable Prime Minister wants, I want to be in the reserved seat. I want to work for people. Since 2017, I have been working for the people and the team. I am up to now. I think I am qualified to work for people.’
I want to work with women if nominated. Everyone knows that I support Awami League wholeheartedly. That is why I want nomination for reserved seats. I believe I have the qualifications to carry out this responsibility.’

Actress Nipun is collecting nomination form from Chittagong division. Meher Afroz Shaon, Urmila Srabanti Kar and Shahanur also collected nominations from the Awami League office.

It should be noted that the process of collecting and submitting nomination papers for the reserved seats for women in the 12th National Parliament has started today. Those interested can collect and submit nomination papers from Awami League office on Bangabandhu Avenue from Tuesday to Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm.
