In 2008, I participated in the 9th National Parliament election as a nominated candidate of the Jatiya Party in Sunamganj-1 constituency. Later, according to the decision of the party, we withdrew the candidature in support of the candidate of the Grand Alliance.
Japa candidate Mannan Talukdar also said in a written statement, ‘This time I submitted my nomination as the nominated candidate of the Jatiya Party in the 12th National Parliament election and continued the election campaign. I repeatedly contacted the central leaders of the party but did not get any cooperation from them in the campaign. In this situation, I clearly understood that seat sharing elections will be held. So I withdrew from the twelfth parliamentary election.’
Upazila Jatiya Party organizational secretary M Al Amin along with Japa upazila level leaders were present at this time.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Nationalist Movement (BNM) candidate and former Member of Parliament Dewan Shamchul Abedin also announced his withdrawal from the Sunamganj-4 constituency on Tuesday.
