America has sent a spacecraft to the moon for the first time 50 years after the Apollo missions. It landed near the moon’s south pole late last month. Later, the manufacturer was able to connect with the spacecraft.

Through this, the world’s first private company’s spacecraft reached the moon.

The mission is part of a NASA project. Under this, they are giving money to various private organizations to take equipment to the moon. NASA has given Intuitive Machines $118 million to run the Odysseus mission.

On February 15, SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket launched the Intuitive Machines’ moon lander ‘Nova-C’ from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This operation has been named ‘IM-1 Mission’. The spacecraft traveled thousands of miles to reach the surface of the moon.

The US space agency NASA is not directly involved in this mission. Elon Musk’s company SpaceX sent the spacecraft to the moon. NASA has six individual payloads on board the Nova-C lander. These payloads will probe the lunar climate.

NASA plans to send astronauts to the moon by the end of this decade. Before that, SpaceX’s mission is being used to study the satellite’s environment and weather in detail.
