Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman has warned that strict legal action will be taken if voters are prevented from going to the center on the day of the 12th National Assembly Elections.

He gave this warning in a meeting with the councils of the two city corporations of Dhaka on the law and order situation on Monday afternoon.

The commissioner said, ‘Voting is a democratic right, not voting is also a democratic right. Voters cannot be coerced or prevented from going to polling stations.’

The police officer promised that the police and councilors will work together to prevent any sabotage or terrorist activities ahead of the elections.

Councilors of 129 wards were invited in the meeting. The meeting discussed about the problem in which area and how to solve it. This top police officer also urged the councilors to work together with the police to face the challenges of these days in the election.
