Sirajganj-5: BNM candidate withdrew by supporting the scissor symbol

Bangladesh Nationalist Movement-BNM candidate Abdul Hakim withdrew from the election in Sirajganj-5 (Belkuchi-Chowhali) seat. On Monday afternoon, he attended the meeting of independent candidate Major (retd) Abdullah Al Mamun at the residence of former Chairman of Chauhali Upazila Parishad, Mahfuza Khatun, and announced his withdrawal from the election.

At that time, Abdul Hakim said, ‘According to the central decision, I withdrew from the election. And I will work for the scissor symbol of brother Abdullah Al Mamun’.

Later, he asked for the votes of independent candidate Abdullah Al Mamun, regardless of party affiliation, in the symbol of scissors.

In response to Abdul Hakim’s support, Abdullah Al Mamun said, “I am very happy that someone who was my rival some time ago has now supported me.”

He said to the voters, if you vote for me, we will all be part of the future development of Sirajganj-5, namely Chauhali and Belkuchi.

Former Chairman of Khashkaulia Union Parishad Shahidur Rahman Shahid, former Upazila Chairman Mahfuza Khatun, Senior Vice President of Upazila BNP Anich Shikder, Former General Secretary of Upazila BNP Jahangir Alam, Vice President Shahid Talukder and others were present in the staff meeting.

It should be noted that in Sirajganj-5 (Belkuchi-Chauhali) constituency, Abdul Momin Mondal from A.League, Fazlul Haque from Jatiya Party, Advocate Nazmul Haque from Krishak Sramik Janata League, and Abdul Hakim from BNM as independent candidates, former Chairman of Chauhali Upazila Parishad Major (retd. .) Abdullah Al Mamun and former Fisheries and Animal Resources Minister Alhaj Abdul Latif Biswas are contesting. Now BNM’s candidate Abdul Hakim withdrew from the election, reducing the number of candidates to 5.
