Dhaka’s Keraniganj Central Jail. A hajti named Khalilur Rahman (68) died. He was a former BGB member, an accused in the BGB mutiny case.
He was brought to Dhaka Medical College (Dhamek) Hospital in a critical condition around 4:15 pm on Saturday. At that time, the doctor in charge of the emergency department after the examination. Khalilur Rahman declared dead.
Abdul Alim, the prison guard who brought him to the hospital, said, ‘Hajti Khalilur Rahman suddenly fell ill this morning. On the instructions of the prison authorities, some prison guards along with me brought him to Dhaka Medical. Later, the doctor in charge of the emergency department said after the examination, he is no longer alive.
He also informed that deceased Hajti Khalilur Rahman’s father’s name is deceased Abdur Rashid Matbar. His Hajti No. 45046/23. He was in jail in the BDR Mutiny case.
In this regard, DMK Hospital police camp in charge. Hajti confirmed the death of former BGB member Khalilur Rahman, citing Bachchu Mia’s doctor.
Md. Bachchu Mia said that a post mortem report will be prepared in the presence of an executive magistrate. After post-mortem, the body will be handed over to the family after formalities.
