Awami League will hold a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s homecoming day on January 10. It will be presided over by party president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said this while talking to reporters at the Dhaka District Awami League office in Tezgaon of the capital on Monday.
Obaidul Quader said, BNP is still lying, their efforts will continue. But the Awami League government will resist it at any cost if violence is committed after the election.
Addressing BNP, Kader said, it is possible to get judgment in this country by non-politicization. Do politics by accepting the reality and people’s judgment – otherwise you will be a political hideout in the future.
Obaidul Quader said that the international election observers have been invited to show how the election went, whether it was fair and impartial. He said that local and foreign journalists witnessed the election. They expressed their satisfaction by going to polling stations in person.
The general secretary of Awami League said that the selected independent candidates will continue their work as members of parliament. And who will be the opposition party in the parliament – it is not yet decided. The future will tell what to do in terms of reality.
In response to a question whether he sees any global challenges, Kader said, there are challenges in all areas, including the Ukraine war, climate change, rising commodity prices. The new government will deal with them.
Expressing hope at this time, Quader said that all the promises made in the election manifesto will be implemented by respecting the people’s verdict.
General Secretary of Awami League said that this election is a milestone in the democratic process. This will put Bangladesh in a strong position in the world court.
Awami League has achieved absolute victory in the twelfth national parliament election by the people’s verdict. He said, people have given verdict against war criminals, fire terrorism. According to the people, this democratic victory is the product of the historic leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter.
As a result of this victory, Sheikh Hasina will form a new government and implement her unfinished tasks, said Obaidul Quader.
