Awami League president Sheikh Hasina will attend two election public meetings in her seat on Saturday, the day after her visit to Barisal. The Prime Minister will attend a public meeting at 11:00 a.m. at the government Sheikh Mujibur Rahman College ground in Tungipara Upazila Sadar and at noon at the Sheikh Lutfar Rahman Adarsh Government College ground in Kotalipara municipality.
Leaders and activists are joining the public meeting in Tungipara with piecemeal processions. Meanwhile, the public meeting place is filled to the brim. Leaders and activists have been coming to the meeting place by bus and truck and on foot since morning.
Meanwhile, along with the visit of the party chief, there is a festive atmosphere in Tungipara-Kotalipara upazila as well as Gopalganj district city.
Earlier, Sheikh Hasina came to Tungipara from Barisal by road on Friday night.
Awami League president Sheikh Hasina is contesting in the Gopalganj-3 constituency consisting of Tungipara and Kotalipara upazilas on January 7. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been elected from this seat since 1986. He has been elected seven times as Member of Parliament from Tungipara-Kotalipara constituency so far. He is voting from this seat in the twelfth parliamentary election to be elected as a member of parliament for the eighth time.
Three-time Prime Minister Bangabandhu’s eldest daughter Sheikh Hasina previously served as Prime Minister in 1996. If he gets a majority in the 12th parliamentary elections, he has a chance to become the prime minister for the fourth time in a row. If that happens, he will be prime minister for five times. Sheikh Hasina has been serving as the party chief of Awami League for almost 42 years since 1981.
After the public meeting in Tungipara, Kotalipara, the Prime Minister will attend the election public meeting in Madaripur.
