‘Shakib won’t play cricket if he can’t return to bat’

Shakib Al Hasan, the biggest name of Bangladesh cricket, is a different character in this year’s BPL. The country’s best all-rounder has been suffering from eye problems since the ODI World Cup. Shakib’s responsibility in BPL has changed as he is not fully recovered yet. Shakib has to do what he has never done in his career this year. Where did the all-rounder Shakib disappear? He is playing BPL as a bowler, which has never happened before.

Cricket lovers know everything about Shakib’s new role in 22 yards. But now alarming news has come from Sylhet. Comilla Victorians played in BPL yesterday. The head coach of the team is Shakib’s favorite coach Mohammad Salahuddin. Although Shakib is a player of Rangpur Riders in BPL, he is not hidden from the eyes of coach Salahuddin.

Salahuddin, who came to the press conference after yesterday’s 7-wicket victory over Chittagong Challengers, was asked about the return of Shakib Al Hasan, who suffered from eye problems, to batting. What Salahuddin said in every reply added to the worries of Shakib fans.

Salahuddin helped Shakib’s batting practice a few days ago. How Salahuddin saw him after Shakib’s net session on field number 2 at the Sylhet International Stadium?

Salahuddin said, ‘When Shakib and I talk, we mostly talk about things outside of cricket. We rarely talk about cricket. We always think more about what is our problem, what is our solution. Cricket is rarely talked about. I really shouldn’t reveal the things that happened.’

However, in response to the question whether Shakib can return to bat or not, Salahuddin said, ‘If he cannot return, then he will not play cricket. I think he is still on the field because he can come back.’

After Salahuddin’s comments, there is concern whether Shakib will leave cricket soon. BCB is 100% optimistic about Shakib getting a permanent solution to his eye problem soon. However, coach Salahuddin’s comments about Shakib have raised the concern of Bangladeshi cricket lovers to some extent.
