Shakib voted, said he was hopeful of victory

Shakib Al Hasan, captain of the Bangladesh cricket team, the Awami League nominated candidate for Magura-1 constituency, has voted in the parliamentary elections. He voted at Darimagura school center in Magura-1 constituency on Sunday morning.

This is Shakib’s first vote as a candidate. Shakib appeared at the center in the morning to vote. Father Khandakar Mashroor Reza and sister Jannatul Ferdous Ritu were seen with him.

After voting, Shakib told reporters that he was hopeful of winning.

Shakib’s rivals from Magura-1 seat are four. They are – Advocate Kazi Rezaul Hossain of Bangladesh Congress, KM Motasim Billa of Bangladesh Nationalist Front, Md. Jatiya Party. Siraj’s Saifin Saif and Trinamool BNP’s Sanjay Kumar Roy.

The total number of voters in that seat is 400,485. Among them, the number of male voters is 200,862 and the number of female voters is 199,621. There are 152 centers in this constituency.
