The police recovered the body of Kishore Shaheen Ali (11), a school student who went missing while driving a van in Kushtia’s Daulatpur. His half-decomposed body was found in the mahogany garden of Tekala ground of the upazila at around 10 o’clock on Sunday.

The deceased Shaheen Ali was the son of Saner Ali, a Malaysian resident of Tekala village in Adabaria Union. Daulatpur police station officer-in-charge Rafiqul Islam confirmed this information.

Rafiqul Islam said, Shaheen was a fifth grade student of Tekala Government Primary School. His father lives abroad and his mother lives in Nanabari. He used to drive his grandfather’s van sometimes. Last December 11, at around 4 o’clock, Shaheen left the house with his grandfather’s battery-powered van and disappeared. Six days later, his half-decomposed body was found in a mahogany grove in a field in the area. In the morning, some farmers found the body in the field adjacent to Adabaria Union Parishad and informed the police.

The OC said that the body’s face was mutilated. However, the family members confirmed that it was Shaheen’s body after seeing the clothes he was wearing.
