Shah Khawar is taking charge as the interim chief of PCB

Zaka Ashraf’s resignation has brought the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) back into the spotlight. The new chairman of PCB will be determined in the upcoming board elections. According to the country’s media reports, Punjab caretaker government chief minister Mohsin Naqbi is going to take the post of PCB chief executive. But before this, Shah Khawar has been appointed as the interim chairman to complete other tasks including managing the board.

Khawar will serve as the PCB chief till the PCB elections. On Wednesday, Cricket Pakistan, the country’s cricket media, reported that Khawar has arrived at the PCB’s head office in Lahore and accepted the role of interim chairman.

Chief Operating Officer of PCB Salman Nasir welcomed Khawar as soon as he arrived at the headquarters. Board members of PCB and other officials were also present there. Learn important things from them today.

Although given the responsibility until the election, various sources say that the interim chief Khawar will oversee the election. Naqbi will contest for the post of PCB chairman. If elected, he will get the responsibility of PCB chief for three years. Cricket Pakistan has announced that the election will be held within a month.

Recently, Zaka Ashraf left the responsibility of PCB after taking responsibility for Pakistan’s continuous failure. As the reason for leaving at that time, he said, ‘I was working for the betterment of cricket, but it is not possible for us to continue working like this. Now everything is in the hands of the Prime Minister (Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar), he will nominate someone of his choice (as PCB chief)”

After the resignation of Zaka Ashraf, the Prime Minister of Pakistan nominated Naqbi as the chief patron of the PCB. Naqbi will officially take charge of the PCB for three years through the upcoming elections.
